The gates of the drive-way built around the Renuka Lake were closed. It was lunch hour and would be open by 2.00 pm. In the meanwhile we went to the temple. There were many feeding spots for the ever so growing Mahseer fishes inundating the lake. Fishing is prohibited there and hence they are enjoying a healthy and prolonged life. The gates were open when we came back from the temple. We paid for the entry and leisurely driving alongside the lake. Entry for public on foot is free. The lake circumference is about 3.5 kms. A few animals have also been kept in captivity to attract local populace. Only monkeys and stray dogs were living a cage-free life. We found some deer’s, black buck, a lion couple, bears and set of leopards. Water looked clean and the mountains were lush. Reflections from the mountains lent extra beauty to the lake. Being a Saturday, lots of people came to visit the lake and the zoo. We spent an hour around the lake.
