Hi Guys,

A few of our friends are planning a trip to the heaven-Leh-Ladakh.We have a tentative itenary and we are planning to leave around late June or early July.Below mentioned is the itenary for the same.I need some help and advice on this.So friends please help me with your valuable inputs as this the trip which we are dying to do and for me this trip is all about my dream coming true

Tentative itinerary for Ladakh 2010

Day 1: Manali - Rohtang Pass – Keylong

Day 2: Keylong - Sarchu
Day 3: Sarchu – Leh
Day 4: Arrange for the Inner line permits and visit the local monasteries and palaces
Day 5: Leh - Khardung La - Nubra Valley
Day 6: Hunder - Panamik (Nubra) - Khardung La - Leh
Day 7: Leh - Pangong Tso
Day 8: Pangong Tso - Leh
Day 9: Leh - Lamayuru – Kargil
Day 10: Kargil - Sanko - Rangdum (Suru Valley)
Day 11: Rangdum - Pensi La - Padum (Zanskar Valley)
Day 12: Padum, rest and explore a bit of Zanskar Valley
Day 13: Padum - Rangdum
Day 14: Rangdum - Kargil
Day 15: Kargil - Sonamarg – Srinagar

Note: We can enjoy snow at Rohtang Pass. Keylong is the last place where you will get a cell phone signal. There would not be any cellular network until you reach Leh city. BSNL postpaid is the only and only network working in Ladakh. (No other prepaid or postpaid). Day 5 & 6 can be done in 1 day it would be a bit hectic. But we will get a day extra to explore Leh city and shopping. Day 10 to Day 14 is additional trip to different side of Ladakh. We are not counting these places as if now. But will try to cover as much as possible in our time frame. Lets see how these workout.

Please friends any advice on this will be highly appreciated .Thanks

Thanks Yogesh and thanks to BMCTouring.com

I am from Delhi and I am planning a tour to Manali-Leh-Pangong Tso sometime around 20th May alongwith some friends and their families. In all we will be 24 members (six families) including two kids as young as 5 years. We plan to hire two 'Force Traveller' vehicles having 12 seats each. We would carry our own tents and food with us. Our plan is to start from Delhi on 19th evening at around 8 pm and wish to reach back Delhi on 29th or 30th May at most and would like to spend at least two nights at Pangong Tso. We have been to Rohtang last year without any difficulty at all and want to extend our tour this year further. Kindly guide us on the following points :

1. Safety measures (General Safety rules and safety against AMS related problems, though we faced none on our Rohtang Tour last year when we had camped just 3 km before Manali on first day and at Power House near Kothi on the second day)

2. Road status - as to when it shall be open for traffic this year and generally what is the condition of the road, keeping in view the mode of transport I have mentioned above.

3. Information about safe camping locations enroute. Since we will have kids with us, I would also like to know where to seek help in case of any trouble.

4. Information about general wheather conditions between 20th May and 10 June.

An early response would help me in planning my trip in a far better way.

Thanks once again.
