What is that water body near Chandratal?

Spoke to Jamaica a while back.
Very soon he will be going to the spot, rappel across (or whatever it is termed) and see the feasibility of visiting the place.

This pic is from a thread from JJAMWAL

That glacier in the background I believe is the topic of discussion which happens to be Samudri Tapu as well.

wow what snap!!

I've been to chandrataal. The angle of your shot appears to be from the cliff to the right of where I was (at ground level- near the Notice). Didn't realize there was a way to get up there. From what route did you reach there? Did you reach Chandrataal and then climb up that hill? Or were you all along trekking on that side itself?

This is from today. I’ve been curious about this water body for a while. What I do want to understand for sure is - what’s the certainty that the glacier above it isn’t samudra tapu? Because if it is, that’d mean in a decade or so, this water body could become the primary reservoir for the Chandra river, and draw water away from Chandra tal. The flow of water out of this “lake” is definitely much more aggressive than that from Chandra tal

This was taken exactly a year ago. I’d think it’s a little further away than just 3kms considering I walked about 300m to change the angle and the perspective on that water body didn’t change at all.
