Backup Whatsapp chat on Google drive.
For settings chose whatever you like.

    Whatsapp >> Menu >> Settings >> Chats >> Chat backup >>
    1.
    Last backup
Local : IST / your local time.
Google Drive : American Time / Server Time
    Size : in MB
"Backup" to be touched to start its working.

    2.
    Google Drive Settings

    Back up to Google Drive
    Daily

    Account
    Your email

    Backup over
    WiFi only

Include Videos Tick on or of it is your prioirity.

    __________ __________ __________

The chat backup is saved as HIDDEN DATA in hidden mode.
To check if your chats are really backed up or not,
Open Google Drive and log in to your Google account.
If you are accessing the link from your phone,
you have to tap on the Menu Button in the top left corner and
then choose to use Desktop Version.

    1. Click on the Gear icon in the top right > Settings > Manage Apps.
    2. Scroll until you find WhatsApp in the list of apps.
    3. After you see WhatsApp, wait until “Hidden app data” size comes up.
    4. Now you can see if the chats are backed up or not by looking at the file size.
    5. There is no provision to alter/ edit the contents but just for the confirmation so you can relax. Your chats ain’t going nowhere.
    6. Depending upon the data you have backed up and what other apps are using your Drive account, a usage information will be shown in few seconds. All apps are sorted alphabetically so WhatsApp will be found in the last quarter.
    7. Here you can manage your WhatsApp backup data. Thus there is no need to look for the hidden folder that is containing the WhatsApp backup files, Google Drive API is designed to use hidden folder to store Apps data. It cannot be opened by you.
    8. According to WhatsApp FAQ - How do I save my chat history?
Here is some technical information about your backup
      1. Backup files are saved in the ‘wa’ folder and are called MsgStore.bak.
      2. Backup files are saved to both your phone’s internal memory and SD card, but only given that there’s enough space.

Since you referred to Google Drive, I assume you have an Android phone. The FAQ for Android is at WhatsApp FAQ - How do I save my chat history? and it states:
Your WhatsApp chats are automatically backed up and saved daily on your phone's memory. Depending on your settings, you can also periodically backup your WhatsApp chats to your Google Drive.
The iPhone app saves the backups to iCloud, of course, but I could not find the file for my backup. Perhaps it is a hidden file. The file is only readable by WhatsApp. If you want to export your chats to a text file, you can email them to yourself. In that case, use the Email chat feature.

    some more tips in Hindi:

अब मीडिया ऑटो-डाउनलोड पर में 'When Using Mobile Data', 'When Connected on Wi-Fi' और 'When Roaming' के सामने बने सभी बॉक्स को अनचेक करना होगा।

Beware of this WhatsApp video calling invite
    TNN | Updated: Nov 18, 2016, 01.26 PM IST

NEW DELHI: Earlier this week,WhatsApp launched its much-anticipated video calling feature+ . And in no time, spammers took note of this new feature and developed a spam website.

Shortly after the video-calling feature was introduced on November 15, WhatsApp users began receiving an invitation link for the same.

Once the user clicks on the given link, he is directed to a webpage to enable the new feature.

The spam message reads, "You're invited to try WhatsApp Video Calling feature. Only people with the invitation can enable this feature". And once you click on the link, it takes you to a website, which otherwise looks nothing like a spam, and appears quite believable.

The entire page has been designed in a way that would deceive even the most observant of us.

And when you click on the 'enable' tab, you will be directed to a new page which requires user verification. You would then be asked to share and invite four other friends to enable this feature through the same link.

Though the entire page and the process looks credible, mere clicking on this link can expose you to spammers, making you extremely vulnerable to hacking.

The correct way to enable video calling feature is to update your WhatsApp app through your Google Playstore or Apple Store. As soon as it is updated, the feature will be automatically enabled.

7 New WhatsApp Features You Need to Check Out
    Mihir Patkar March 24, 2016 5 minutes

Facebook-owned instant messenger service WhatsApp is one of the fastest growing social networks on the planet. To keep up with the growing demands of its millions of users, the app frequently receives updates to add new features.

Just a short while ago, we talked about six new WhatsApp features you should know about. Well, since then, the developers have added a whole bunch of new abilities that make the app better than ever. Plus, WhatsApp is now free forever!

To get these new features, you will need to have the latest version of WhatsApp, v2.12.51. The update is currently available only for Android and iOS users. You can download the app from the respective app store, or update it from your phone if you already have it.

    Zoom, Pop-out, and Edit Videos
The new update completely changes what you can do with a video shared in WhatsApp. For starters, any video you download now has the same “pinch to zoom” mechanism that you find in photos. It’s a little difficult to pan-and-scan once you are zoomed in, but you’ll get the hang of it soon enough.

Additionally, a new option lets you open any video in a pop-out floating window, just like playing YouTube videos in the background. This way, you can pop that video out and let it continue playing, while you browse your other WhatsApp messages. How to Play YouTube Videos In The Background, And Even With The Screen Off

Send PDFs and Share from Cloud
The Internet actually has some fantastic sites for free ebooks. However, they’re mostly in PDF format.
So until now, if you found a gem of a PDF, you couldn’t previously share it with your friends on WhatsApp. Similarly, the mobile phone and credit card bills that land in your email inbox in PDF format couldn’t be “WhatsApped” to someone else who needed to verify or approve them.

Well, all that changes in the new WhatsApp, as you can now finally send PDFs to others, along with most of the other popular document formats.

    Share Photos from Cloud Drives
Speaking of sharing documents, that’s one of the handiest new features in the WhatsApp update. Now, when you tap to share photos, you can simply dive into your favorite online cloud drive and add pictures from there.

WhatsApp has added support to let you send documents from cloud-based drives like Google Drive and Dropbox, along with your internal storage. It’s a small step towards making it easier to share anything.

Of course, you’ll need that cloud drive’s app installed and set up on your phone to be able to access its files. I’d highly recommend having Microsoft Office or Google Docs installed on your smartphone to take advantage of all these file-sharing capabilities.

And personally, I think it’s best to use Google Photos and its unlimited photo storage space rather than any of the other solutions. But having the option to do what you want is always good, eh?

    Auto-Sorted Links, Docs, and Media
So, your contacts can now send you documents. Add to this fact that photos and links were already shareable, and WhatsApp has a whole lot of media flying around. How do you track it all? Our previous suggestion was to use hashtags to make search easier, but that’s made redundant by WhatsApp’s “Starred Messages”, introduced in the last big update.

Thankfully, WhatsApp now auto-sorts all the links, documents, and photos or videos shared in any chat, whether a group or individual. Just open a chat, tap the three-dot options icon in the top-right corner, and select “Media”.

You’ll find three tabs for Media, Documents, and Links, which house all the relevant items shared in that chat. It’s super useful and my favorite new feature in the update.

Clear Chat but Keep Starred Messages
Speaking of Starred messages, their utility can’t be denied. However, those who liked to clear their chats—especially if your Android is running low on storage—also used to lose these Starred messages in doing so.

The new update now lets you choose to retain these Starred messages while clearing the chat, so that the important stuff stays and the inane banter goes away. Nice and easy!

Control Download Settings for Data or Wi-Fi
WhatsApp is aware of how many of its users are worried about the amount of data it uses while connecting to the Internet through Edge, 3G, or 4G. A new setting allows you to minutely control this data usage.

Go to Options (Three-dot icon) > Settings > Data Usage and you will find extended options to control how and when media is auto-downloaded. So when you’re using mobile data, you can set it to download only images; while roaming, no media; and when you’re on Wi-Fi, to download everything.

There’s also an option for “Low Data Usage” when making a WhatsApp Voice Call, although this was already present in earlier version and is not part of the new update.

Get New Features First with WhatsApp Beta
Traditionally, new features for WhatsApp for Android debut first in a beta version of the app, which enthusiastic users can download from the WhatsApp website. Well, now you can be a part of this beta and get automatic updates from the Play Store.

WhatsApp has launched an official beta distribution channel on Google’s Play Store, through which you can try out new features before anyone else. Be warned that a beta app can have bugs, so we don’t advise this for everyone.

To gain access, go to the WhatsApp Beta page, click the “Become a Tester” button, and download or update the app from the Play Store.

    What’s Your Favorite WhatsApp Feature?
That’s plenty of new stuff in WhatsApp, from pinch-to-zoom for videos to advanced control over how it affects your data. My favorite part is, without doubt, the auto-sorted links, documents, and media, which makes it easier than ever to find something a friend had shared.

11 Ways Whatsapp Is Responsible For Your Break-Up! Beware Of These Rules!
    Rajnikant V/S CID Jokes

WhatsApp has become an inseparable part of our lives. Day and night, people keep texting each other, without realizing that it has become an addiction. When it comes to lovers, there are certain rules that have to be followed on WhatsApp and don't you dare break even one, else it would break your relationship. These days, this IM app has become the main reason for many breakups; do you want to know how? Let us sail through them…

    1. Typing, Typing and Typing!

For instance, if your boyfriend/girlfriend is typing, typing and typing for a long time and finally rubs it off, you often become very nervous and anxious. This gives a new reason to spark an argument. If it goes beyond the limits, expect a breakup.

    2. Ignorance has a new name

Those blue ticks give us a blue feeling, when messages are read by our lover but aren't replied to.

    3. The “k” Syndrome

Many a times, when the boyfriend/girlfriend is super-pissed, he/she might just message “K”. Does this mean that he/she is not interested in talking further? Even if this is not the case, the boy/girl would always think so.

    4. The Drifting Apart Zone

Once you and your partner are on Whatsapp, it is a MUST for you to keep chatting on and off and if you fail to do so, be ready to hear the firing.

    5. The Last Seen Issue

The last seen timestamp has actually ended many relationships. You might see your boyfriend/girlfriend online at around 1am at night, wherein he/she actually has that habit of sleeping at 11pm. So isn't this a good reason for arguments, further leading to break-up?

    6. Conversations have become quite Informal

Short forms, slang language or unfiltered posts with grammar errors might not be appreciated and if your BF/GF is a grammar nazi, then you have to face the wrath.

    7. The DP Blame game

Don't you dare keep your Whatsapp DP with your best friend. Your partner might not like it and this will start a new war of words.

    8. The Invisible Last seen

The obvious question “Why do you want to hide the last seen time” and if you fail to answer, you will be bombarded with some more questions. MY GOD! This is too much.

    9. Your Status can become the TROUBLEMAKER

Don't you dare set a Breakup song line as your status! Even if you don't intend to keep it purposefully, your lover would get a hint that you want to end all relations with him/her! So BEWARE

    10. Clear Conversations

No matter whatever happens, you aren't allowed to clear your chat with you lover's best-friend. If your boyfriend/girlfriend finds it cleared, you are GONE!

    11. Blocked

Even if your phone has automatic updates and by chance the WhatsApp application gets deleted, your partner directly lands at your place thinking you BLOCKED him/her. Then, be prepared for the war of words.

So, be thankful if you have a partner who is not so much into social media because there nothing more addictive than this.

WhatsApp Android App Gets GIF Search, Media Sharing Limit Increased to 30 Files

    Tasneem Akolawala, 10 January 2017

    HIGHLIGHTS
    • Users can now search for GIFs based on keywords
    • The ceiling limit for media sharing has also been raised to 30
    • All of these features are currently available only for beta testers

After what seemed like a really long time, WhatsApp finally introduced GIF support in its app in November last year. iPhone users got it first, and in December, Android users received the WhatsApp GIF support update as well. Now, the instant messaging app has gone a step further and integrated GIF search into the app, and also raised the media sharing limit from 10 files to 30 files, on WhatsApp beta app for Android.

WhatsApp beta v2.17.6 for Android has brought the ability to search for GIF images and use them in chat conversations. A new GIF icon now appears at the bottom when you tap on the emoji button in WhatsApp.

Opening the GIF section in WhatsApp throws a lot of popular GIF sharing options available on Giphy (as seen above). You can even search for related GIFs on WhatsApp using keywords, select the one you like, and send to users without leaving the app even once. Notably, not all users are seeing Giphy as the GIF image search integration - one of our team for example, is seeing the TENOR GIF search (seen below) instead - possibly because he uses that keyboard on Facebook Messenger. Uninstalling Facebook Messenger did not cause WhatsApp to throw up the Giphy option instead.

When WhatsApp GIF support first launched, users could convert live images or videos into short GIFs and send them on WhatsApp. Later, you could even share saved GIFs directly from the phone, and now integration of Giphy makes GIF-sharing extremely seamless.

The updated beta app also brings a significant change with respect to WhatsApp image sharing. The ceiling limit of sharing 10 photos at a time via WhatsApp has been increased to 30. This change will be greatly welcomed by users, as bulk image sharing was a quite a task on WhatsApp. This raise in ceiling limit will smooth things out a bit.

As we said, all of the above mentioned features are in Android beta version 2.17.6, and should arrive on the stable version soon. For now, if you want to experience seamless GIF searching and sharing, and send bulk images to your friends, join the WhatsApp beta testing community on Google Play.
