Hello,

I got to know about this site through one of my good friend.

I am planning to buy a new DSLR and having zero knowledge about DSLR. My budget is under 27k.

After visiting some of the websites i shortlist the following:-
1) Nikon d3300:- 24600 (with 18-55 mm VR II lens)
2) Canon EOS 1300D :- 25995 (with 18-55 mm ISII lens)
3) Canon EOS 1200D:- 25995 (with 18-55 mm ISII lens)
4) Nikon d5200:- 27459 (with AF-S 18-55mm VR II lens)

Please also tell me that what is the difference between VR II ,ISII and STM lens?

PS:- I want this for my pleasure not for money making purpose.

Please suggest me the good camera to buy as i am totally a beginner. If you have better options other than my shortlisted camera's ..... than please tell.

Please help me out!
Thanks in advance.

4th choice of D5200 is best in this budget if you love photography.

IS II /VR II is same thing with different words used by different companies.
Experts will tell more technical details.

Or get a Sony RX100, either version II, III or IV, which ever fits your budget.
Don't misjudge on its small size, it is better than may DSLRs.

Hi Deepak,
D5200 would be a good choice.. Its for 27450/- on flipkart (See Link) with an 18-55 lens..
If you like portraits then 50mm f1.8 would be good for learning.. (Link)
Or if you want zoom lens, additionally go for 55-200mm Nikkor VR II lens (Link Here)

Generally beginners start with 18-55 and 55-200mm lens so these models are available in combo as well. (Link)

Ok, then D5200 with kit lens is a good beginners camera.
But seriously I suggest you budget for a photography course also, then only you'll justify your purchase and moreover enjoy photography.
All the best.

... as you say you have zero knowledge about DSLR, hence a beginner course would be highly advisable, if you want to reap out the true potential of what a DSLR is capable of !
A beginner course which esp teaches about the Exposure Triangle and the DoF . (... extremely important ! )
Then a course where you can learn about the camera control and its ergonomics.
And another important learning is about RAW processing ! This field is the true playground of a DSLR. Immensely powerful and satisfying. Something which brings about that magic and that oomph and punch in an image.
And then something to learn about the fine aesthetics of photography, like framing and composition.

Start with any beginner body and a kit lens , learn the basics and then shoot, shoot and keep shooting. Open up your shots, self analyze, improvise and keep learning. :)
