Go for Panasonic, their panels are made in Japan. Superb quality at low price. I checked some new Panasonic products last sunday at their brand Shop at Great India Mall, NOIDA.

Zzzzz...
The Videocon ones are really goo... people still remember Vieocon as a old obsolete brand, but what they dont know that over these years Videocon has grown tremedously and has become the largest producer of TV screens in the world.
been using one for past 2 years..no single complaint till now.

That's great! I had an impression that Videocon has improved but never had any actual feedbacks.
we never had any issues.

Do you specifically want an LCD?

Hope you are aware that nothing beats the picture quality and longevity of CRT.

If you simply cannot physically accommodate CRT, that's a different matter....
agree to this too...but so far the videocon one has stood the test of time..well just 2 years till now.

Videocon 32" Plasma for 20k. Available at NEXT Stores.
i'm sure a bit a negotiation can bring down the price a bit.

BCM'ians,

Being a bit tech savvy hers my say …. Now have a Sony Bravia, Panasonic TX32 LE8

**** Disclaimer ********

These specs are just for guidelines and user opinion may differ.
No offense for any brand …. Just the observations .

Sony ---- the specifications for T, S and V series. The worst thing is that SONY is not manufacturing any of these series and directly getting them from SAMSUNG and putting their logo on the panel only. Only the X series is manufactured at SONY but it's more than double the price of rest of the models of other series.

Samsung – Very bad customer and product service, what the point going in for a brand that doesn’t has service ease. After all its machinery and is bound to malfunctioning.

LG - LG has only good physical shape but not picture quality and the fast moving pictures leave retraces and the logo of channels on the top right corner takes time to fade.

TOSHIBA – A good one in terms of quality, but when compared to PANASONIC, TOSHIBA looses the game of choice due to poor plastic quality used for the panel.

Rest of the brands like VIDEOCON, SHARP and SANSUI are BIG NO NO and don’t even go the showrooms to check the, you will spoil your taste of LCD TV Watching.

One thing I figured on the showrooms was that a particular distributor is keeping one set of almost all the companies for comparison with the one they are selling, like the SAMSUNG showroom was keeping one set of VIDEOCON and TOSHIBA to prove that these brands are not good and their product is the best. But once you ask for the other brand they will simply say that it doesn’t sells anymore because of poor quality and service.

After already owning a Sony Bravia and after researching a lot, my choice lands on PANASONIC VIERA TX32LE8. The best thing being it has life of full 60,000 hours which no other company offered. Also the contrast ratio is FULL 10000:1 and is ACTUAL, while other companies like SONY, SAMSUNG says 10000:1 but also writes ACTUAL as 1800:1(may be because both are from the same parent). The colour quality in the TV is Excellent and SOUND though is only 100 Watt but is crystal clear. The Viewable angle is really 178 DEGREES and is not hypothetical but REAL. Horizontal arch design of this TV makes you feel that you are watching scenery on the wall. It has no nonsense plastic part and is actually a wall hanging model.

Provides the service check on the very next day of purchase for installation and demo. Continuously watching this TV doesn’t stress and fatigue the eyes. Once connected with the home theatre or just a simple DVD player will give you the real feel of quality entertainment.

The fast moving videos leave no retraces and there is no channel logo solidification. Also the real Black and White colours can be seen on customizing the colours while other brand shows grey and off-white.

Also the screen strength is of excellent physical strength, Dealer showed me by hitting it with a full pace COSCO ball and hard hitting remote on the screen , but it didn’t left even a single point of damage. Though i don’t want to try it on my set at home but the act really created an impression of good build quality.

The screen has REAL LIDUID CRYSTALS. They do not leave any retrace once you press and rub your thumb on the screen, while other models leave a trace of colour and laptops too do the same. All these things being the use of highest quality panel.

The best thing being the Panel which is made in JAPAN ( BEST COUNTRY KNOWN FOR ELECTRONICS AND TECHNOLOGY which no other company is offering and everybody is utilizing panels made in CHINA.

The customer service is excellent and divided zone wise so that your complaint or call is attended very same day and that too in span of two hours.

Trust me friends, if you want peace of mind and want to shed your hard earned money in the right choice for your family entertainment, only go for PANASONIC.

Wish you Healthy for Eyes Pleasant TV Watching and Entertainment ……

Regards,
Pankaj

Sir ji, Yes i am aware about that, but CRT is heavy and very difficult to transport. i m looking for an LCD because of its easy transportability.
