Which mp3 player and earphone

Been using Soundmagic PL-11 earphones for a while now and am super impressed by its bass and sound quality. They are in-ear types and come with extra rubber attachments that fit into every ear.

Regarding a Mp3 player, I'd suggest Zen.

How VFM would the IPOD Nano V Generation 16 GB be, if I get it from someone who'll bring it from the US? It's costing me around 4k cheaper.

IPOD is never VFM. Do look at iRiver, Creative, cowon. Most bang for the buck, and the best features for same price.
For example, way back in 2007, I bought myself a Creative nano 1GB for 70$
It does
mp3 playback
Voice recording
Line in Recording
FM Radio playback and recording(30 presets available)
Display screen and equilizer etc,.
Ipod nano at that time with just mp3 playback without any screen costed 90$+

vaibahv if u are seriously into audio dont go the ipod way .but if you want for casual listening then ipods are ok .but they have bad battery life .if u want something to take along on your trip get something with better battery life

Yes, I do want something with better battery life, just for my trips. The nano is pretty sleek, compact and packed with a lot of features, including a built in video camera. Plus it is costing me cheaper as compared to in India. An 8 GB Gen V Nano will cost less than 6k, maybe even around 5.5k and a 16 GB one will cost less than 8k.

How does that sound? Is it still not worth? If not, what is a better option within the same money bracket with more or less the same features with better battery life?

Please give some model numbers. I'll pick and choose, as I have to tell my friend by the end of day today only.

Thanks

I don’t know about the battery life of ipod, but the way I see, at least for travelers like us, it does makes sense. After all majority of the places we go to, do not have FM radio and if you are like me, then 99.99% of your listening is made up of mp3s, which is what ipod supports without issue.

Yes if its hdd can not stand high altitude, then it is a major minus point.

Well ipod nano does not even have a screen. And having extra features never hurt anybody.
Moreover, other brand players are like pen drivers, plug into any PC. Ipods require special software for transfer of songs etc.,
ITs a question of freedom of use.
Not to mention lousy sound quality.

I got the nano because it take AAA batteries, and 1 duracell lasts 15 hours! Perfect for me.

Tanveer, it does have a screen.

This is the one I am planning on ordering: Apple - iPod nano - Music player, movie player, and video camera.

Have taken one from a collegue for the rest of day, exploring the features right this minute.
