No idea about such "breakthrough filters". I use 10 stop hoya HD and 16 stop Formatt Hitec firecast filters. Both are color neutral . The 16 stop cutter is much more challenging to use. Also using one Lee big stopper for my 14-24 , but that's a different beast.I've been recently reading lot of good reviews about "Breakthrough Photography" ND filters... Has anyone else heard of them? are they really that good? and my query is - for a landscape pictures, which stop ND filter to buy (6 or 10 stops) and which brand is best color neutral? I wanna capture sunrise/sunset in beaches, blur waterfalls in broad sunlight... that is all!!!

I use a BW MRC ND10 stop filter. I have observed very little/no color cast with it. Serves me well on my 20mm lens. Thanks Somnath & Hensil, I read the review in the below sites (just FYI) and was surprised by the positive feedbacks... Looks like I will go Hoya way as advised by Somnath ji. Just curious to know if B+W will be a good choice then?

Thanks a ton Ankur, if BW gets such good review from an expert like you, I believe I can go for it. Only thing with Hoya is aluminum ring and I keep reading reviews that it gets stuck with lens and brass rings are better in this regard. so only checked for B+W. thanks once again all for your vital inputs!!!!I use a BW MRC ND10 stop filter. NiSi filters are getting good reviews these days. Can check them also.
Yes.Slightly offtopic here but my camera has a 3stop built-in ND filter. If I get another external 3 stop filter, will the total density be equivalent to 6 stop?
He is hiding it here now:Haha thats crazy. Show us how it worked![]()
