Why should we not fill petrol till tank neck in BS4 model of Classic 350

I seen some video regarding the same in YouTube. I understand from his view that duw EVAP system (evaporative emission control system) there is a vent pipe in tank which absorbs the evaporated petrol and send to charcoal to limit the emissions, So if we fill petrol till neck then vent pipe will submerged in the tank results in problems like stalling. Therefore he mentioned showroom guys are advising to fill petrol till half level.

However, When i bought BS4 model, show rooms guys dint suggest me this. Experts can advise me? is that real. I should not ustilize the my tank capasity?

It is really not true that not filling the tank to the top will be any benefit.
With The new Bs4 norm all the two wheelers tanks are made air tight so that no amount of fuel should waste with normal evaporation and fuel gases.
Earlier there use to be small air escape hoel in the tank cap or a overflow pipe for letting the gases escape which have formed inside the tank due to hot weather or heat. To maintain the pressure inside the tank.
But now the tank is fully air tight with only one escape route which ends up at the charcoal canister of the evap system , which in end result re circulate every drop of fuel to eliminate the wastage. This is all a important part of BS4 norm.
And the issue with air tight tank is that sometimes the fuel starts coming out from the tank key hole due to hot air pressure, and in some cases the air get so trapped that it causes missing or jerks.
Now even the tank overflow pipe is circulated to the evap system.
Thus sometimes the svc guys recommend not to fill the tank to the top.
And this is common with most BS4 bikes and apparently no company has solution for this fuel coming out from key hoel and missing due to trapped gases, thus they end up suggesting not to keep the tank full.

Hi,

I have a similar query as yours.
I Got My TB350 BS 4 Delivered Recently On 23rd June 2017.
During Delivery, The RE Mechanic Explained Certain DO's And DONT's With One Of Them About Being The Built Of Air Inside The Fuel Tank.
Issue: Air Build Up In The Tank On Being Kept Idle In The Sun Or Anywhere For More Than 3-4 Hours. Before You Start Your Bike, You Have To Open The Fuel Lid And Let The Air Escape.
Reason (Given By RE Mechanic): Certain Changes Were Made To Fix Leakage Issues In This model (The EVAP system as explained above) . As A Side Effect, The Air Evaporating From The Petrol Locks And Builds Up Inside The Tank. The Fuel Lid Has To Be Opened To Let The Air Escape Before You Resume Riding.
My Investigation: 1) I Have Noticed Air Escaping The Fuel Lid When The Above Scenario Happens. A Couple Of Times, The Air Escapes Such Vigorously That There Is Also A Loud Sound Generated With It.
2) When I Keep The Bike On Side Stand For Some Time, On Resuming Back The Ride, The Bike Stops After Some Time. It Stops In A Way Like The One We Experience When The Bike Goes Into Reserve. On A High Level, It Seems That The Bike Is Not Getting Any Fuel Intake. In Such Cases, I Open The Fuel Lid, Let The Air Escape And Then The Bike Starts Effortlessly.
Other Issues: Due To Above Explained Issue, The RE Mechanic Asked Me To Fill Only 10 L Of Fuel At Max So That When The Air Escapes, The Fuel Does Not Gushes Out With It. He Also Told Me That The Bike Has Only 16 L Of Fuel Capacity As Opposed To The Official Stat Of 20 L.
Over The Internet, I Did Not Find Any Stories Of Similar Issue apart from this thread. I thought the issue was with my bike individually.
Has anyone tried filling the tank up to the brim and faced any issues with the BS4 model? Also, anyone facing stalling issues with the bike when kept on side stand for sometime? Thanks in advance.

Dont worry u can safely fill the tank to the top, this stalling due to air lock is happening in other big capacity single cylinder bs4 bike as their engine heats up more and make the fuel inside the tank to also heat up and creat gases. Which eventually gets locked inside tank due to the new airtight norm associated with bs4.

zestbiker-if there is a SPIRIT,I ride it
Waiting for FZ25 Abs!
That may take time-Yamaha is deliberately delaying ABS so as not to derail the value equation on an already expensive FZ250 .
Even i figured that this will happen only when ABS becomes imperative on all two wheelers.
So bought myself a BS3 KTMD390 at the price of Domi400.
Refinement be damned-ACCELERATION is king:lol:-was actually missing the explosive acceleration of my beloved RD350-so bit the bullet when the KTM deal came up-negotiated for almost 89days to hammer the price of the D390 to Domi400 level:rolleyes:
