Yakmik Changla Guest House, Tangste

We stayed at the Yakmik Changla Guest House in Tangste during our Winter Trip to Ladakh in the month of December. At that time only the common Ladakhie style toilet was working and heating was in the form of gas powered heater.

Although beds are ok, rajais (cotton filled quilts) are heavy and have a tendency to slip while sleeping, not all that comfortable.

Guest house also has a small store on the ground floor (rooms are on the first floor) as well as the restaurant, which served ok food (at least in winter).

Paid around Rs. 600 for the room, and I guess that included the cost of stay for the driver as well.

Ha ha ha, do you mean to say that you didn't click any pics of the room, the hotel and its surroundings?

Tangste's main street isn't the most photographic place, hardly took any photographs there, apart from the view from the roof.

do you recommend a stay there or shall we skip and look for some other? Any better you know about?

Couldn't spot any better place open at the moment, though I could be wrong.

Sorry, don't have their phone number. In fact as far as I can remember, I don't think they had any and even the mobile phone network at Tangste was iffy at best.

the owner has started another plush guest house there but it is closed for winters.
