Zanskar & Beyond. 14 Himalayan Passes. 15 - 31 Aug 2021

This stop was needed,
cause this is where we would head for Zanskar Sumdo, and Shingo La,
and this would be the spot where we would return from Ladakh via Sarchu.

the drive was amazing,
last time most of it was gravel, and round boulders, and had to be in 1st gear half the time,
this time we slowed down only at places where bridges are being completed, rest was an amazing drive to Zanskar Sumdo.

We reached Zanskar Sumdo,
and we could see the U Bends going up that would take us to the next valley and Shingo La.

As we took the U bends up,
down below we could see Zanskar Sumdo.

We were into the valley on top,
the road was super.
in future this will be a 3 lane road all the way to Nimu near Leh,

some km short of Shingo La,
some road widening going on, but it did not make any diff to the drive,
it was very comfortable.

We were above the U bend that would take us to Shingo La.

And Shingo La finally,
what we could not do 2 to 3 years ago,
now is an amazing drive.

Time to get down to the valley floor and to the river below on the other side.

Going down is real steep,
U bends are sharp and even more steep.
you can go down in a normal 4x2,
but you better be in a 4x4 on way up.
